E-mail or Snail-Mail?

I personally prefer snail-mail to e-mail when I send in a manuscript. I think it makes me look more profesionally and less lazy, but I understand that a lot of people don't have time for snail-mail. What's your prefrence when sending your novel to an agent?

If I was sending sample chapters, (and then hopefully a manuscript!) I would definitely send it by e-mail if they had that option. Far better for the planet than using all that paper. And also a lot cheaper. In fact, although I'm not at that stage yet, I think it would be the sort of thing that would cross an agency off my list, if they didn't accept e-queries.

I'm not going to cross an agency off my list if they only take snail-mail. I actually prefer email. It's faster and a lot cheaper -- plus I don't have to worry about envelopes. Specifically, fitting a lot of paper into one envelope. I hate it when envelopes get all bulky. It just irks me.

Of course, the downside to email is that you get rejections faster, sometimes. I got my first rejection only 16 hours after I sent the query.

Either way, I just prefer email.

I'm not saying I definitely would cross an agency off for that - I can understand why agencies would prefer things either way. It would just be one more thing to take into consideration when I'm deciding who to submit to.

I'm not going to cross any off my list because they only take this type of query or they don't accept that form of query. If they look like a great fit for my book, I'm just going to go ahead and query them. My nana said she'll pay for paper and ink to print the first fifty pages of the manuscript if an agency requires it. Man, I love my nana.
