I stumbled across this artist - Jason Chan - a few months ago, but only now realise he designed the cover of the UK version of the hunger games!! Really like his style, does any one know of others with similar style - Jason Chan website

I just like these paintings...I dunno. They interest me. Especially The Death of Marat by David. That would be the first one of David's. The one with the dead guy in the tub. It's weird and morbid and I think it's a very interesting commentary on Marat himself. See, I just love David because he was almost like a political cartoonist. Almost all of his paintings made some sort of political commentary.
Van Gogh I love because he was just so...off. And his paintings just rock. I like how you can see the brush strokes in the paintings.

I always find these types of art very thought pervoking over tradt art.

Emily, was one of those pictures you posted the cover?

It's funny, Novel because in my art class we do an art history note thing everyday, and one of the ones we did once was the Jacques-Louis David of The Death of Marat. My teacher was telling us how the man in the tub had some skin disease, which I can't remember what it was, so he would sit in a bath of warm water and write because the water helped his skin or something. Next year I am taking an Art History AP class, and I am so excited! I think I like learning about art and artists better than drawing myself.

One of my favorite drawings is called Hand with Reflecting Sphere by M. C. Escher. Amazing. It actually looks reflective, and it's pencil!

I don't know why I love it so much, if it's the colors or the fact that a flower and bird can look so emotional.

Sure! The perception and angles of the drawing are absolutely brilliant.

I was wondering around the net and i found this artist on deviantart and she BLOWS me away!! Very tim burton, but whenever/if ever i get serious, i would love her to design my characters!!
