I'm entering a contest in the next week or so:

Contest Link

I'm looking for a beta reader to help me. (The story is only around 2000 words.) Anyone else interested in entering or reading for me?

Hey Wendy,

Maybe you could tell us what specifically your looking for in beta - i.e. grammar expert, line by line, characterisation.

I wouldn't mind doing a beta for you - I'm not a great grammar beta though, but i'm ok on broader things

PM me and let me know.

I usually have family members and friends beta for me, but I need someone to take a cold run at this one. It's a short story that would most likely fall into the "horror" genre. My problem is that two of my siblings have come back with positive, but completely wrong ideas about what the story is about. I meant for some things to be left in the air, but they're just way off. It's like I sent them the wrong story or something.

So, I'm looking for someone to just cold read this short story and tell me if the plot is clear... even if the final outcome is a "lady or tiger" type of thing.

Since it's short, should I just PM it to you, or email it, Emily? Well... if that's okay, I mean. It is in the horror genre, and I don't know if everyone likes horror.

Hi Wendy. I haven't read much horror (does Stephen King count?) but I'd be happy to take a run at it.

Still new on the board. Can you PM it to me or should I provide an email address?

Also, my experience as a reader is of the pen and ink variety in college. Should I just do a track changes/comments sort of thing?

Sorry for the twenty questions. I am still getting my bearings. Laughing

And finally, when do you need it back?
