Ok so i only saw the first ten minutes of this programme - my parents and sister choose to walk in, just during a sex scene pale

So had to change the channel - and i was dying to see this *pah*

I haven't read the books either but i've heard great things.

anyone else seen this?

I watched about ten minutes of it (but mine wasn't a sex scene) and it was just really annoying to me. Maybe I have to watch more of it, I don't know. :/ It seems like a smut fest to me and I have yet to find to much of a plot.

Someone please prove me wrong. I wanted this show to be good. xD

Moonlight - i wanted to like it too especially with anna paquin in it (i loved her as rogue). Moon have you read the sookie series? I wonder if the book and tv series are different? cause i saw one of those books in children section and i assumed it would be 'kids' friendly

Like the show, LOVE the books. I really love just how authentically Southern it is, you know? If the events of the story ever happened, that's exactly how it would go down in the LA/MS/AL area. Especially Louisianna.

The books have way (and I do mean WAY) less sex, and Tara isn't in them as much as she is in the show. There are a lot of things that are a little different, but I still really love the show. But not as much as the books.

Is it authentic in the books? or in the series? or in both?

Both. The author of the books is from the South, so she knows all the ins and outs. The show translated it really well. And the accents? If I didn't know better, I'd say they're all really from rural Louisianna.

Haha, yeah. If you want to know about the Deep South, watch this show... Laughing

I've been watching season 2 on-line, since nobody around here has HBO (I don't think we get it at home, either, sadly), and I've been working on getting my hands on the next book. I must say that I'd pick Bill over Edward any day, lol. Wink

The first episode in my opinion wasn't great for this show. I watched the second episode to give it a second chance and it gets better just in that episode. And yes, there is a ton of sex in that show which bugs me because I feel all dirty like I've just walked in on someone. Kind of like in The Tudors as well. I usually fast forward if I can on those because they just make me feel so dirty which I don't need. I also don't need my daughter walking in when one of those scenes show up.

I thought it was FABULOUS. I wish I got HBO, then I wouldn't have to wait for second season. I haven't read the books, though I need to. I heard that the first season followed the book fairly well, but I heard that for the second season they made a deal to do their own thing and potentially diverge from the books.

But I loved it. Like, I dunno, something about it made me believe maybe there really ARE vampires in rural Louisiana. It also kind of has me excited about moving there in a couple years. (Not the vampires obviously, but a girl can dream, right?)

Anyway, bottom line: LOVED. IT. Cannot WAIT to get my hands on second season. If they weren't cracking down on people downloading it I'd be doing that. I don't see it as dishonest - I DO plan to buy it when it's released on DVD... I just wanna see it now. *pout*

<3 Ren

PS i'm more of an Eric gal than Bill. Does that make me bad? :p
