PostSubject: Yea! I'm brand new.   Thu Nov 19, 2009 6:38 pm

Hello all! I was invited to come over and take a look around by emilycross and so far I like what I'm reading. I'm a 30-something mom of two living outside Philadelphia. I write a column for a brand new motherhood magazine (www.themotherhoodmuse.com) launching in January. In my spare time (haha) I write womens fiction and chick lit if you want to stick me in a genre. I've been writing seriously for about three years ever since I participated in NaNo. I've made writing my full time passion for just over a year.

The unimportant stuff: I have four manuscripts completed and one almost finished and another with a few chapters thrown down. I have more ideas than I have time for Smile So far I've submitted five times and recieved four polite rejections. Still waiting for number five. I'd love to be published but I think even if it never happens (please let it happen!) I'd still write anyway. I've been known to search under the seats in the car to find a scrap of paper when I get an idea, I kinda drive my family crazy because of it.

I blog at http://bloggingmama-andrea.blogspot.com and I try to keep a more 'professional' blog at http://theliteraryside.blogspot.com though it's been sporatic of late.

I'll answer anything you want to know so you can always email me rendeer Writing and publishing may be dog eat dog but I do believe we have to support our fellow writers too. We can all benefit from each others experiences.

I'm a Mama and my name is Andrea too! How funny! I blog too, but anyways. Welcome to the site! I've been MIA for a few months but I hope to come on and off again soon. But we'll see, my son is 4 months and teething.

Hi Andrea,

Welcome to the Board - its great to see you! If you have any issues/problems feel free to pm me or the other mods!

Wow i don't know where you find all the extra time with two kids underfoot, but fair deuce. Great news about the column, although i'm not a mother - i'll definitely check it out in Jan!

Feel free to pop in and post on any of the threads or if you see anything thats not addressed - feel free to start a new thread (maybe one about mother writers in the novel section? - i know there are a few moms here)

Hi and welcome to the board Andrea! I'm a mommy of a 4 year old and I know how it goes when you need paper and have to use an old receipt from the floor of the car just to jot down the idea. Great job on your writing! Keep it up. Welcome again!

Hello Andrea! Sorry this is late. I like the literary blog, especially your Jan 1 short story.
