| Hi everyone. Emily Cross invited me to check out this site. It looks interesting so I decided to join. I'm in the process of writing my first young adult novel. I think the story would have some cross over appeal, but time will tell. First I have to find out if I'm proficient enough to warrant agent representation! I'm amazed at how subjective this whole publishing business is. If anyone would like a chance to get a free copy of New Moon, check out my blog at writingisablessing.blogspot.com. I have two so I'm giving one away. Bye for now, June | |

| Daeonica felt I should be more specific in my introduction. I don't know why I just assumed where I'm from is just going to magically appear! I'm in New York at present, but I go back and forth to South Carolina. I have degrees in teaching and counseling. I counsel children that the school system has classified as Emotionally Disturbed. I have two lovely cats-a mother and her daughter. I guess the novel I'm working on is rather edgy. It's about a boy who is beautiful, but very shy and insecure. He meets a lonely miserable girl. She's a social misfit and lives with an abusive mother. The mother becomes enamored with this boy and he tries to figure out how he can utilize his good looks to influence the mother not to harm the girl who is now his girlfriend. I hope that wasn't too convoluted! June http://writingisablessing.blogspot.comDon't forget, if you want to try to get a copy of New Moon for free, visit me.

| Thanks. Would you be so kind as to tell me how to add to my profile? How do you add a picture and hobbies, location etc. I typed in the info, but don't see a way to make the data upload. Thanks | |

| Hi June, welcome to the thread its great to have you!! Your MS sounds really interesting! Your experience counselling will no doubt come in handy, with delving deeper into the characters - i'm sure you'll have no probs placing it. Ok for your profile - (i'll run through the 'how to' which you prob already know - if it doesn't work, pm me and i'll see if theres a problem with the account and sort it ) 1. click on 'profile' 2. enter information 3. click save 4.click 'preferences' tab just above where you entered info 5. click yes/no to preferences (i recommend yes for html and for getting replies about posts) 6. click 'save' 7. click signature 8. enter information - like html link for blog 9 click 'save' basically keep clicking save for each new tab when you enter information. sometimes the system acts up so let me know and i'll see what i can do | |

| Thanks for the welcome Novel. I know all about having a lot of homework to do. I turned down a seat in nursing school because it would require a tremendous amount of time and I want to spend time working on my novel. AP classes eh? Impressive! June | |

| Yeah. One of my friends that's a nurse has been pushing me to do the nursing and thinks I'm crazy, but I don't regret it one bit. Every time I think of the work and pressure I'd be under right now, I breath a sigh of relief! The school said I can reapply in the future, so we'll see how things go. | |
