Hello everyone. . .

My name is Emily Cross (which is a pen name), i created this forum to coincide with my blog The Writer's Chronicles which is an information resource for writers which uses online information from ezines and literary agents/publishers blogs as sources of information.

Anyhoo, i created this forum because of both the great experiences i've had over on a writer's community forum called the writer's draft and the importance of networking and platforming.

I also thought that it would be nice to form a writing community for those who happen across my blog (or who i begged to join) to discuss ideas, topics and general life stuff.

Back on to 'introduction' topic, i'm a twenty something who is currently in fulltime education (university) and wants to someday be a published and paid writer!

Well currently its at the beginner stages - Prologue & Chap 1 so far

Synopsis so far: Sight is a curse, especially when you're blind. Well, thats Zaera's opinion. Since birth all she has known is the darkness of blindness until one day her sight comes alive with a vision of fire, blood and death. As a result of her guilt of both ignoring this vision and surviving the slaughter of her village, she sets out with the help of some dubious smugglers to follow her destiny and the will of the fates.

Thats the 'pitch' so far basically its a fantasy about a blind girl who has visions of the future which are leading her on a quest for the three secrets, which give ultimate power to those who possess all three. In this world, Zaera's village is part of the Ascacia, a small kingdom which is poor except for the fact that it is a place of pilgrimmage which holds one of the secrets and as a result is pulled into a war between two more powerful kingdoms (who inturn have plenty of groups who are following their own interests).

One kingdom 'a' (don't have names) is the ally of Ascacia because the king married the princess (and now queen) of Ascacia. He however was killed by his enemies (believed to be assasins of kingdom 'b'). The current 'holder' is the king's brother who questions the legitimacy of King and Queens soon - believing he's a bastard and not entitled to be king of both 'a' and ascacia.

Behind the scenes politically as the uncle is trying to gain support between the factions, he's being secretly supported by kingdom 'b' behind the scenes.
As the story progresses the future king (prince of ascacia) and Zaera will be thrown together with other main players to find the rest of the secrets, before the other factions do as it will be the decider of who wins this 100 year war.

Ugh - as you can see the plot needs alot of work and maybe its a bit much for a first- person POV aimed at YA/adult fantasy readers. I don't know how i'm going to explain all different elements - it might drown out the main story.

I'm hoping to make it a trilogy and alot of the politics is drawn from 100 year war, edward IV and richard III

That sounds great! Pretty complicated though. Good luck to you writing that, and keeping everything straight.
