Ok, this is a really awful picture, but I wanted to squee about it and share it here Very Happy

Look look!!

Story is, I bought these hot, fm pink shoes for a wedding that's this weekend. Yea, I bought the shoes before the dress! Well I looked *everywhere* for a dress and couldn't find anything that looked decent or matched or fit right... it was a disaster. The fashion industry thinks everyone is a size 2 with mile long gorgeous legs. Ah, sorry, I don't like my knees and I like to keep them covered!!

ANYWAY, so I decided to make my own dress!! It took me a lot of procrastinating to do, I started Friday night and finished the hem yesterday. I don't know how they do it on Project Runway... I was ready to drop after the first all nighter. I took Saturday and Sunday off!!

That's awesome! I've tried sewing but it got me no where because I can't go straight at all. Knitting and crocheting have become my thing because it's easier to make stitches a consistent size.

That's the blanket I made for Evan (my soon to be born son)

Wow! You people are remarkable! I admire anyone who can create magic with their fingers like you do. I couldn't tell the difference between a needle and a thread.

Okay MJ. I'll be PM'ing you for sewing tips when I start trying to sew something in the future. All I can do are blankets. Sad, yes but true. I am better at sewing straight most of the time though.

gobblegobble - there is a GREAT book by Simplicity called 'Sew U'. Its the BEST sewing book I've found on the market for beginners who want to make some clothes.

They have a llot of great tips and EXCELLENT illustrations. And it doesn't read like a boring text book, its really witty and fun Very Happy Feel free to PM me too!! Very Happy

That's awesome MJ! Very Happy I sew as well, but not clothes. I made a tote bag, though. xD I have to figure out how to upload pictures from my camera and show it here. =D That's amazing to be able to design and make your own dress, having correct measurements so you don't make it too small or big. @_@ *drool*
