| I've been re-reading 'Sunshine' by Robin McKinley. Excellent novel, and I'll have to write a review of it soon. _________________ Signature under construction... waiting for my computer-savvy fictional loves to fix it for me.

| Ah! Please PM a review later Emily! Sunshine? I got that from the library this summer but my friend told me it was terrible, so I never read it and just returned it. _________________ "Aen estar Hadhafang i chathol hen, thand arod dan i thang an i arwen." | I guess it depends what you like. Did your friend say what bits made it terrible? I can see how some people would dislike it - it's written much more like people think - her train of thought flows along, so sometimes it appears to go off at tangents. But I really liked it. It's very realistic, I think. It was a different way of telling a story. _________________ Signature under construction... waiting for my computer-savvy fictional loves to fix it for me.

| I know it's about vampires, so compare it to something else [NOT Twilight] like Interview with a Vampire... did it hold up? _________________ "Aen estar Hadhafang i chathol hen, thand arod dan i thang an i arwen." | I never made it all the way through Interview with a Vampire - I got bored! Um... I read a lot of vampire stories, and I've seen vampires done in lots of different ways. Yes, I think Sunshine was good. The vampires are seen by society as very definitely evil. There are no exceptions. Sunshine (the MC) is basically 'given' to a vampire at the start of the book, but she gradually becomes friends with him, and then ends up with the dilemma of, should she help him with this thing, or should she trust all the rest of the world that there are no good vampires. If she chooses to help him, what does that make her? How does she keep it from her colleagues, and from the police who know she's hiding something, or several somethings? If you've got it at a nearby library, you can always give it a go - it's not like you've lost anything if don't like it, and it's not like school where you have to finish a book you don't like _________________ Signature under construction... waiting for my computer-savvy fictional loves to fix it for me.

| Oh Diana i read ink exchange!! I like wicked lovely too! Ink exchange is strange but good. I don't particularly like aislinn to be honest (and i don't like her much during this at all) and during the course of this book well, once you read it we can discuss it ala spoilers (i need to talk to someone ) - i'll start a thread once your done reading it if you like. But i totally love the dark court (don't know if that was meant to happen, but i totally routing for them ) edit - i totally loved pelinor series too |

| Nope i've seen it a couple of times - i think its more of a continuation of keenan, seth and aislinn. ink exchange didn't really advance that story |

| I just started Catching Fire and just finished Vampire Diaries. Vampire diaries was cheesy. As for Wicked, I found it disturbing...I'd never read it again and don't want to read his other books.... But it was good, just a bit disturbing in some scenes. |

| I'm reading The Book Thief right now. Not my usual fare--I tend to favor fantasy over any other genre--but I'm really enjoying the author's gift for poetic visualization. |
