| Hi all,
I was wondering if anyone would be interested in a book club? Basically over the space of (a week, fortnight, month - let mw know which suits) we pick a book, read it and then discuss it - in its own thread here.
At the moment i'd like to get a few numbers for those who would be interested. thanks emily

| I'm saying yes, though it will always depend on the book for me! I think a longer time frame (2 weeks, a month) would be best, since that will give people time to pick up the book somewhere if they hadn't prior to the discussion time! | |

| I agree with psyche, it definitely depends on the book. I still haven't finished Kissing the Rain and then I have to read Dandelion Wine. But I think I'd really like to do this - it just depends on the book. | |

| I say yes for the most part, depending on the book. | |

| I'm up for it! I think a good time frame would be two weeks or a month, so everyone can get a chance to buy it and read. Great idea! | |

| Ok great! Well its agreed then that we should start one. I think i'll leave a month between each discussion to allow people to purchase and read the book before i open a thread.
I'd like to ask for suggestion for our first book? I was thinking that we might start with some homegrown talent 'Rosy Thorton's' book - More than love letters?

Ah, that gives me an idea. How about if it's something short like Coraline maybe just two weeks or maybe three, but a good five or six weeks for something monstrous like War and Peace. Just a thought to toss out there. Or maybe I'm sounding stupid because this went without saying >.> - emilycross wrote:

Sounds good! I may not be able to until I finish my other books, but I can try.

| Yes, I'd be interested. Like the others, it depends on the book. Also, for me it depends on whether I'll be able to get a copy from the library, or have it already - I'm not going to be going out buying them at the moment - saving for the gap year. | |

| I would love to join in. I'm not sure about the current book, just because I have about 5 in front of it, but if I get done quickly (which I may) I will join in. Thanks for the chance, I think it will be great to have the discussion. | |

| I'm the same as the others. It depends on the book. This is a great idea! So, is it, More Than Love Letters? Or, is the jury still out? | |

| As much as I'd love to, the 2 libraries in my area don't carry the book and I don't have the money to spend on it at the moment. Next time!
Might I suggest The Kitchen Gods Wife or the Curious Case of Benjamin Button? I borrowed the first one and the second one should be in at the library soon, it's on hold for me and the current reader hasn't finished it just yet.

| I've started a voting thread - the poll will change every month with people's requets and we can all vote on what book we want to read. | |

| Ooo. Book Club! (Sorry, I've been sorta M.I.A. for a while. On Break now, so got slammed with exams right before.) I really like this idea, but I have a HUGE stack of books to read. I'd feel pretty guilty taking up more until I get through some of them. (Most of them are romance novels, too.) Maybe once Break is over, and I've read... Well, I want to be caught up to the book-a-week thing, and if I can do that, I'll jump into the bookclub and read whatever we're on when I catch up. | |
