| Hey Everyone! Emily asked me awhile ago to jump on board with this and I'm just now getting around to it. This may be due to the fact that I just had my second child a month ago and my life has been a bit chaotic to say the least.
Anywho...I'm a writer by hobby and only for about a year now, but am well on my way to being done with my first book. My focus is mainly on YA Fiction just because I think they are really where the audience is now and they seem to be able to appreciate a good get away better than most adults anymore.
Besides writing I do a number of other things including playing the flute, reading, scrapbooking, quilting, knitting and I also have a small ETSY site I am working on to sell projects I have been working on. Oh, and outside of all that stuff I am happily a stay at home mom of two now and love having the chance to enjoy finding myself on a regular basis.
Thanks Emily for the forum! I can't wait to get to know you all and share ideas.

| Thanks for the warm welcome everyone! I can't wait to get to know all of you and start posting. I do have to say I thought this was quite funny Emily: - emilycross wrote:

I actually think the opposite, as far as having time and energy for it. I lose my sanity when I'm not working on my writing or some other creative outlet. I actually took some time off from writing and it zapped my energy. There is just something so motivating about it. So, quite a few of you asked what the book is about...tentatively it's called "The Edge", but in the back of my head it nags at me because I think this is a bit cheesy sounding. I think I may change it when I'm completely done. Who knows??? The book is told by a girl just starting out in college, but focuses a lot on events that happened to her during the last couple of years she was in high school. A number of the young men in her town have gone missing and were last seen on the top of the same 18 story building downtown. Last of the boys to go missing is the love of her life and since then she has been trying to pick up the pieces of whats left of her. Surprisingly, at the end of her 1st year of college the boys all return, with the exception of her love, and everyone is left wondering where they've been and where the last boy is. So far this is the just of the story, but obviously there's a lot more to it and I'm trying to work it all out. Let me know what you think and if you have any more questions!
