Help required

Hello people,

Could there be a thread detailing sites where you can create your own banner (helpful tips about how to create them would also be nice), your own avatars and the like? I'd like to create a banner about my WIP but haven't the foggiest how to begin.

As soon as I get my computer redone (or I believe some great artistic work can help too)...but I use photoshop programs to do my banners/avvies mostly. It's not difficult to learn how to use these programs at all. Just let me know--I won't be online again until Friday night/Saturday because we are driving out to Illinois from where I live now in Utah and then closing on a house we are buying. PM me about it and I can help you figure out some things you can use to make your own as well.

I use Lunapic.com. It's sweetness. You just upload a pic (or create a blank banner) and use the buttons on top to do what you want with it. It's not as complicated as PhotoShop or GIMP (which I STILL can't figure out) and it's free. It's where I make all of my book covers and banners and things.
I know Emily uses the PhotoBucket picture editor, although I've never worked with that. If all else fails, I'm game for making you one. Smile

Thanks, gobble and Novel. What I am going to do it hang out on Photoshop and Lunapic for the rest of this week. And if I have only a lousy creation or no banner on Sunday, I'll hammer your doors for help.

Since I've never found my way around photoshop, chances are you'll hear from me anyway.

ReNu - there are some AWESOME photoshop tutorials on YouTube. If you ever want to give it a go. I mean, yeah, it requires time and patience to actually learn (I jump right into my programs and start clicking around, then search for help when I hit a snag). Just thought I'd share that. I like both Photoshop and Corel Paint Shop Pro, but I've been using Jasc software for years. Lol. Just getting into Adobe.

i downloaded gimp, when you open it and go to 'help' they have online manual/instructions. i still haven't mastered it yet. hope the list helps!
