iHeart's Welcome Thread!

Hello! My name is Leah, and I'm not a writer. Not a "real" one anyway. I started a book for NaNoWriMo in 2007 and never finished. It was so fun, but I just need to focus on getting the motivation to work on it. And revise it. Repeatedly. Like I said, I'm not a real writer. But maybe if I practice I can be one when I grow up.

Oh, pooh! Saying that you're not a writer is a surefire way to crash and burn! Say it loud, say it proud: "I AM A WRITER!!!" And who says that you have to be grown up to write a book, anyway?

Okay, sorry...now that that's all out of the way...

Writing isn't really something you want to do. As soon as you put the words on the page, that's it! You're a writer! Just go for it.


But practising is always good. Hope you have fun here on the boards.

iheart - NaNoWriMo is not for the faint hearted - i've never done it! in my book your a writer! As soon as you have a thought/plot and put pen to paper or finger to keyboard you are a writer!

Do you want to tell us a little bit about the plot of your NaNo novel and maybe any areas you want an opinion on?

I've never tried Nanowrimo, it seems like so much work. Congrats on doing that and surviving it!

Leah, you're a writer if you're here. That says something about you! I did NaNo for the first time this past year. It's my third novel I've written, and doing it with NaNo was amazing. If you're a new writer, NaNo could be very challenging. Jump on in! It's your choice whether or not you remain a writer. Hope you stick around!

You're a writer if you write with the intention of authoring something, IMO. Sounds like you have the intent! I did NaNo this year for the first time and managed it just barely. It was craziness though. Keep working on that novel.
