Romance is overrated. I discovered that back in November (those of you from the Draft may remember). I don't want a boyfriend. I don't need a boyfriend. I mean, come on, what do I need a boyfriend for, anyway?

Besides....Embarassed...even if I DID want a boyfriend, he would have to go through very thorough, intense questioning from all of my characters. And I really don't want to unleash Ray and the others (especially Ray, gah) on a poor, unsuspecting guy.

I didn't really find it a day of dread so to speak, but it was in someways.

My hubby and I went to El Torritos with my parents for Lunch, took a walk, worked on a puzzle for a bit, and then did our own thing. We did a special dinner and gift exchange last night (13th). But we did wish each other Happy Valentines and will watch a movie together.

The fact that it was a day of dread is because it's getting close to the day he leaves. So each day is a bit more dreadful, then culminates on Tuesday.

Well, hey, sounds like fun, Blue.

My nana told me to tell you that you and your hubby are in her thoughts. She also said congrats on the baby. (Yeah...my nana knows all. I tell her everything.) My mom says to seriously enjoy what little sleep you can get. Razz

And, hey, I'm thinking of you guys, too. Happy thoughts.

Oh, and I finally got some chocolate...a big thanks to Mom on that one. It was shaping up to be a pretty cruddy V day because of lack of chocolate. But we're good now.

I worked all day. Yay! Up at an observatory, so apart from skidding up an icy hill (it was actually kind of fun) and accidentally locking my keys in the car (hey I need some drama) I've been taking pretty pictures with my camera, waiting for dark to come so I can take more pretty pictures of stars.

Blue! That sounds like fun! Very Happy Oh, oh, I brought up heart shaped cakes and my observing partner and I had our vday together, because we're both lame and single so we were each other's valentines since neither of us care for the holiday much. Oh, and it was snowing, so we brought evergreen scented stuff and Christmas lights and we're reenacting Christmas. Well, it's not snowing, we can't work then, obviously, but there's snow on the ground. Smile

Novel you're so practical. I'm a little jealous, although I did go through and finish up all my major editing so I can write again on Wings. I guess that was practical. Didn't get much else done, though.

And look, this thread has the popular icon now. Very Happy

I agree with you! I'm 16 and never had a boyfriend and I'm gosh darn proud of it! Very Happy

Although this was a ways back, I love flowers! I love drawing them, especially tulips!

And congrats Blue, on your baby boy! And just to let you know, my birthday is July 16, so it's so close! LOL! How cool is that?

And speaking of chocolate, I'm so mad! My doctor told me I shouldn't eat chocolate any more because it can spark my migraines! Ugh! I love chocolate! Sad

I've got a boyfriend, and we've been together for about a year and a half, but we didn't do anything for Valentines day. Mostly because I think it's stupid and commercialised. We can tell each other we love each other all the time, we don't need to wait for one day.

Hee I'm single and I love it and I agree with dae. I think it's a little silly to have a day where you tell someone you love them.

If I DID have a boyfriend, I'll admit, it's nice to splurge once in a while, of course. But I would appreciate a surprise from him when I'm least expecting it - not on a commercialized holiday, you know? So yay to singles and yay to couples! (And three- oh, whoops. I said this wasn't the gutter, didn't I? Razz )

I loved being single and was content with staying that way for the rest of my life, then I met my husband! But the key to happiness and the theory behind meeting someone you may want marry or date is to be happy with where you are in life! I tell that to all my single friends who really want to find someone and marry.

So yes...enjoy being single, taken, married, whatever. But be happy! If you're happy everyone will see that be naturally drawn to you, unless they hate happy people and want to be unhappy...but that's their choice then. Very Happy

I was reading The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho. It's one of those spiritual journeys book that anyone of any faith - or no faith at all - can read an enjoy. Anyway, one of the underlying themes in the book is that if you're not happy in this moment right now, you never will be. You can't hope for a future that's happier than the present you're currently living, so be happy now! (It's a really awesome read that I recommend for everyone)

I thought it loosely applied. What Blue said reminded me of it, anyway.

So I got a new tattoo last night and thought I'd share. It's a jigsaw puzzle piece that's on my hip. You can see it here . And I have to say that this one hurt a lot less than my other.

Do any of you have tattoos?

No I don't, as I am only 16, so I couldn't ge one if I wanted. Smile I've always thought that it might be kinda fun to get one, and I'd like it for a month or two, but I'm scared after that, I might not like it any more.
Anyway, that's an interesting tattoo! I'm curious if there was a certain reason behind it? And I like the color! Smile

Cool! I think it's cute! I tend to pass out at the sight of needles, personally, so a permanent tat is a really bad idea. (I went into shock after getting my third HPV vac cus I was so hyped up going in when it was over I calmed down so fast my heartrate crashed and threw my body into shock. Not fun.)

That being said, I love henna tattoos. That, and they're as permanent as I want it to be. So, if I like one, I'll just trace it once a week to keep it there. If I get bored of it, I let it fade. I tend to favor some sort of angel wing (or wings) on the left side of my chest, or an ankh on my left wrist. (Being right-handed, I tend to have issues drawing anything with my left. I'd totally let someone else paint something on my right side.)

Yay!

Imaginary, there isn't really much meaning behind it.
I was putting together a puzzle and my elbow was resting on the finished part, and when I pulled my elbow up, the imprint was fascinating to me. So, I went and got a piece. My mom wants to get connecting piece.

My last tattoo has a deeper meaning. It's the celtic tree of life, which was the basic source of sustenance for the irish people. It was said to be a magical tree that could provide food, shelter, and bestow blessings upon the people. Underneath the tree, I also have a phrase tattooed "rath de ort" which is an irish blessing meaning "May the grace of God be with you."

Thanks guys!

About the pain, I'm a complete freaking cry baby. When I have the flu I act like I'm dying. Despite all that, it's actually not too bad. The pain gets to a point where it's really bearable and you can just kick back and wait for them to finish.

After my first tattoo, I swore I wasn't getting another one. It's actually kind of addicting though. I'm already planning out my next one.
